About the Author

VERA NAZARIAN is a two-time Nebula Award Finalist, 2018 Dragon Award Finalist, an award-winning artist, a member of Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers Association, and the author of the high-octane adventure YA dystopian apocalyptic science fiction series The Atlantis Grail, an international bestselling phenomenon that has been optioned for film.

As a double refugee, after immigrating from the USSR during the Cold War, and then escaping from the Civil War in Lebanon (by way of Greece), she spent 35 years in Los Angeles, California. She now lives with many wacky cats in a small town in Vermont and uses her Armenian sense of humor and her Russian sense of suffering to bake conflicted pirozhki and make art.

Other work includes critically acclaimed novels Dreams of the Compass Rose and Lords of Rainbow, as well as the outrageous parodies Mansfield Park and Mummies and Northanger Abbey and Angels and Dragons, and most recently, Pride and Platypus: Mr. Darcy's Dreadful Secret in her humorous and surprisingly romantic Supernatural Jane Austen Series, and the romantic Renaissance epic fantasy Cobweb Bride Trilogy.

  • Nazarian writes clean and true prose

"...Nazarian writes clean and true prose..." ~Publishers Weekly

  • Mind blowing and the most original story you'll ever read.

    ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

"This the first book in the greatest series ever written. You Will never read anything else like it in your entire life. I first started reading it in 2014 and fell in love immediately. I love the series so much that I've read them a total of 21 times, not counting the re-reads between releases. I also love them so much that I have gotten two (and have several more planned) tattoos referencing them. If you haven't read this book or this series, you're missing out. Do it. You'll fall head over heels in love."

  • A fabulously written page turner.

    ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Imagine the world 30 years from now were some things never change. Then imagine you are a 16 year old high school student and your mother is fighting for her life against cancer. You, your father and three siblings are all dealing with this nightmare when you learn that a huge, indestructible asteroid is hurtling towards earth and will create a E.L.E. in two years time. Just as this scary news is released, so is the report that there is intelligent life in the universe, and it has come to call with a flotilla of enormous silver space ships. And even more amazing, is that these aliens are not really aliens but are the "Altanteans" from the fabled lost continent of Atlantis that disappeared into legend 12,000 years ago.
Well if you can't, don't worry because Vera Nazarian has. She starts her story with 'Qualify or die.'
    ...
I can't say how many times I have re read the two published books of the series (Qualify and Compete) and some of the preview chapters of the third book (Win), the publication of which I eagerly await.
I highly recommend this book and the whole Atlantis Grail series to young readers of all ages. I know of several seventy-year-old, young at hearts, who love the series as much if not more than the many teenagers it has captivated.
